Johanneberg Campus
Located in the heart of Gothenburg is the Johanneberg campus, an important part of the city landscape. An open oasis of knowledge which together with Göteborg University embodies the true essence of Gothenburg as a city of knowledge.
History
The oldest part of the campus dates back to the 1920s when Chalmers commenced the move from Storgatan to the Johanneberg area at Landalabergen.
Since then the development of the campus has been the focal point. Different eras have left their mark on the buildings that have been created. This is evidence that the campus is in a continuous state of development and gradual refinement to adapt to operating requirements. A relationship which is clearly illustrated when strolling through the Johanneberg Campus.
Surroundings
In the area there are a number of knowledge-intensive companies which run operations in symbiosis with Chalmers. In the immediate surroundings there is a Science Park and incubator companies.
On and directly adjacent to the campus there are 3,500 dwellings for students and researchers. Chalmers Studentbostäder and Stiftelsen Göteborgs Studenthem are responsible for these.
